Questions we get asked a lot
How much does digital signage cost in the UK?
Our CMS costs from £249 to £395 per screen per year ex VAT, depending on how many screens you have, plus a one-off £595 set-up per organisation, however many screens. Screens, players and installation are a one-off cost on top, depending on size and location. LED screens are priced per job. Our quote calculator gives you a ballpark price in about a minute.
Is there a set-up fee?
Yes: a one-off CMS set-up of £595 + VAT per organisation, however many screens you have. We set up your organisation on Knightsoft CMS, with your branding, layouts and playlists, so your screens are ready when you sign in. It isn't content creation, which is priced on request.
How much is installation?
Installation is a fixed day rate of £250 per engineer, ex VAT. It's the same whether the job takes an hour or the whole day. LED screens are quoted per job.
How can I pay?
We send a quote, then an invoice to pay by bank transfer on 30-day account terms. We order your equipment once the invoice is paid.
Can I use a normal TV?
Yes. Our players plug into any screen with an HDMI input. For screens that run all day or face a window, a commercial display is brighter and built for long hours, and many domestic TV warranties don't cover business use. More on TVs vs commercial screens.
What happens if the internet goes down?
Your screens carry on playing. Each player keeps a copy of your content and catches up with any changes when the connection comes back.
Do I need a TV Licence or a music licence?
Screens that only show your own adverts and information don't need a TV Licence. If you show live TV, you need a TV Licence for the premises. If you play music in a business, you'll normally need TheMusicLicence from PPL PRS.
Can I show live TV on my screens?
Yes. With a live TV zone, live TV from your own TV box (such as Freeview), connected to our player by HDMI, plays in one part of the screen while your promotions play around it. You'll need a TV Licence for the premises, and TheMusicLicence if TV sound or music plays in a business.
How quickly can it be installed?
Usually 1–2 weeks from order, depending on stock and the screens you choose. A player for a screen you already own can usually be set up sooner.
Can I update it from my phone?
Yes. Knightsoft CMS works in any web browser, so you can change pictures, prices and messages from your phone, tablet or computer.
